Resumen:
The research is located at El Rosario Sanctuary, Ocampo, Michoacán, in the Monarca Mariposa Biosphere Reserve (RBMM). It is derived from the application of a survey to heads of households that were engaged in the sale of handicrafts and / or food during the hibernation season from November 2013 to March 2014, the objective of the research was to identify the factors which determine the monthly income of the ejido family units El Rosario, municipality of Ocampo, Michoacán, to determine if the income derived from tourist activities affects their monthly income. The contribution was to present an econometric model that identifies the factors that determine the monthly income of the family units and to determine if the income derived from the tourist activities influences their monthly income. Statistical and economic results indicated that both the instrument proposed to capture the information of the variables of interest and the regression model itself are feasible to identify the factors that determine the monthly income of households.
