dc.description.abstract | INTRODUCTION: The scarectomy is the removal of non-functional tissue eschar for the epithelialization of the lesion, the intervention is considered early before 5 days after the burn. The purposes of the present investigation were to determine the importance of the scarectomy before it caused more complications, in a tertiary care hospital. MATERIAL AND METHODS: The study design was quantitative, epidemiological, retrospective, observational and descriptive, the sample was selected at convenience and included 30 clinical records of patients with a diagnosis of third degree burns according to Hospital criteria and based on the norms of Wound clinic manuals. RESULTS: In the characterization of the great burn patient, it was found that the majority of patients exposed to burns are men, with a marital status in a marital relationship, with an average age of 18 to 35 years, a level of education: basic medium, with The main job is that of an electrician. The benefits observed were mainly for the treatment with early scarectomy since in these patients there was a lower requirement for grafts, less pain, infectious processes and the hospital stay was also shorter for this group, than the early scarectomy at the level of pain 85% had tolerable pain while 25% had severe pain, delayed scarectomy: 57 & had tolerable pain and 53% had severe pain. CONCLUSIONS: It is recommended to design and implement a training manual aimed at hospital staff with a focus on personalized treatment measures that favor the severe burn patient. | es |
